Welcome to KVK Design!
My Story
My name is Katie Kennett! I am an Interior Designer in
Western North Carolina. I became interested in design
because of my dad. He owns an architecture firm in High
Point, NC. He has been the person I look up to and my guide
throughout my career.
During high school, I decided I wanted to pursue interior
design, so I enrolled in an Architectural Technology and
Design Program at Randolph Community College as a dual
enrollment student. Randolph was an amazing experience
for me. It was a chance for me to get my basics down in
Interior Design before going into a four-year college.
I learned a lot and met many great, talented professors and friends. I had the opportunity to work on a holiday house in Lexington with some established designers. I learned how to work with people who have different design tastes than me, but the best part was learning that I am in the right field.
After graduation, I chose to attend Western Carolina University where I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design. I have expanded my knowledge in many different programs like AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, and SketchUp, and learned how to network with others.
Currently, I am working at The Design Gallery in Flat Rock, North Carolina as a Drafting Interior Designer. I work in Revit and AutoCAD to create floor plans for clients and some 3D renderings for them to see how their space will look in the end. My coworkers are amazing people and very accomplished interior designers. I have learned a lot from them and love my job. I am excited for what the future has in store for me!
